The ship was over armed for its size, out gunning even an ISD, its reactor, while powerful, could only generate about 60% of the power needed to power its combat systems. The Procursator was also more dedicated to naval combat, carrying less troops, to make room for heavier shields and power systems. They were, while roughly the same size as the ISD, more lightly armed, but in doing so it gained some maneuvering capabilities. Analogous to roughly two Gladiator-class it was designed to patrol outer rim territories in groups of three to six and keep the peace in the area. The main reason was a focus on close-range combat instead of long-duration carrier. Unusually for a ship of such size, it only carried 74 starfighters-just two more than the Imperator, which was only a third the size of the Praetor. Secondary weapons on this ship included 184 quad heavy turbolaser turrets, 240 triple heavy turbolaser turrets, 80 heavy ion cannons, 80 assault concussion missile tubes, 20 heavy proton torpedo tubes, and 18 tractor beams, mainly to keep enemy ships close so the weapons could blow them away. Like the TIE/s Smasher, which Astragon developed it alongside, the ship was one of the first to incorporate the super-heavy laser cannon technology and fuse it with modern turbolaser design.The ship had twelve such guns on six dual turrets.
Like a few other SSD classes, the ship also had two dorsal ridges across its otherwise flat forward superstructure. The ship had three main thrusters and four secondary, like Imperator-class Star Destroyers, but the engines were larger to propel the larger Praetor. Rather, the bridge itself was nestled in the cylindrical section in such a way that no enemy could make a sneak attack on it without being exposed to weapons fire. Unlike the bridge tower on typical Star Destroyers, the area of the ship where the bridge was supposed to be was quite deceiving to opponents. Like many Imperial and Astragonian ships, it was dagger-shaped. First, the ship was 4,800 meters long, or about a third bigger than the normal Praetor. The Praetor II was an evolution of the ancient Praetor I, possessing several major design changes.
The Praetor II-class Star Battlecruiser was a smaller equivalent of a Super Star Destroyer, created for the section of the Astragon Navy known as Astragon's Eye, which relied on smaller ship designs. The black dots on the ship's surface are heavy turbolaser emplacements.
